Spring Bear HuntingThe recent increase in the bear population has turned an area known for its good bear hunting into an area with exceptional bear hunting. Is not uncommon to spot a half a dozen bears in a day. The majority of bears in this country are off-color bears with cinnamon, chocolate, or blond coloring.This is a controlled hunt only. (No OTC tags, except for resident if there are tags left over after draw.) Hunt dates are April 15 - May 31, 2008 for the spring. The application deadline is February 10, 2008. Backcountry Outfitters offers seven-day Supplied Camps for Spring Bear. This is a controlled hunt only. Moss Springs Packing offers seven-day Drop Camps and Supplied Camps for Spring Bear. This is a controlled hunt only. Supplied Camps: We pack you in to one of our camps that is already setup and waiting. We furnish the tents, wood stoves, all the necessary camp gear, propane cook stove, and all the cooking and kitchen equipment. You just bring your sleeping bag, a foam pad, food, and your hunting and personal gear. Give us a satellite or cell phone call and we will come and pack out game as it is taken and then we'll return and pack you out at the end of the hunt. $1,200.00 per hunter - camp minimum two hunters. Please note: Pack items are limited to 125 pounds total or 1-1/2 mules per hunter on a supplied camp, per person, and 200 pounds or 2 mules for drop camp, per person. We reserve the right to refuse any item.
